LG Art Gallery

I am honored to launch the first 25 paintings of my father, Louis's art collection on my website.

In Louis' early career days in the 1970's, owned a gallery in Antwerp, Belgium with his business partner. The gallery exhibited 18th and 19th Century Flemish and French paintings and sculptures. My parents were married in 1976, had my brother, Wesley in 1977, and I was born three years later in 1980.

When we moved to Orlando, Florida in 1983, Louis sold his half of the gallery to his partner and brought part of his collection to Florida. The move was inspired by his dreams of becoming a land developer in Orlando. Most of his developments have been residential neighborhoods and a few commercial properties throughout his career. Alongside his land developing career, he was consistently collecting art. In those early years in Orlando, I ventured with him to auctions, flea markets, galleries, and museums.

After losing the collection he brought from Belgium and most of our family's belongings in a house fire in 1989, Louis began collecting contemporary glass and paintings predominantly from the 1950's - 1990's. His collection includes over 300 paintings, glass, and sculpture; works of various sizes ranging from abstract, landscape, floral, still life, and portraiture. Included in his collection are works from the grandfather of Op Art and Hungarian / French artist Victor Vasarely, Color study New York artist Robert Swain, and Mexican abstract artist Leonardo Neirman. The new collection was powered by color and abstraction of pieces that spoke to Louis and would become much of my inspiration for my artwork throughout my life with heavy ties to nostalgia.

I originally designed his logo in 2014 for his gallery which was in a commercial building he owned in Heathrow, Florida from 2008 - 2021. Over the last eight months, I have been digitizing his collection.

Most of the pieces that are included in this portion are our favorite larger abstract pieces. I have also included a few of his smaller landscape paintings.

This is a work in progress as I will be uploading additional photos, videos, and condition reports. If you are interested in any of these included on my site, please reply to this email. If you are looking for an aesthetic, color palette, or specific size, I can share a selection with you by email.
