My studio was commissioned by a private client to paint an exterior mural for a residential ranch-style home built in the 1950’s in Little Tuscany, Palm Springs. The home has been restored in the last five years.
The design is an organic shaped mural inspired by Bauhaus, Alexander Calder, and Belgian design. With the desert environment, the design felt more true to its surroundings by allowing breathing room in certain areas for minimalism, movement, and playfulness.
The ten color palette includes nine colors from Dunn-Edwards Paints trends 2023 including the Color of the Year, Terra Rosa, and also black that accents the home’s trim. Dunn-Edwards Paints sponsored the paint for this mural.
The mural was completed before and during Palm Springs' Modernism Week, February 16th - 26th 2023.
